Q: WHY IS NORTH STATES INDUSTRIES CONDUCTING THIS VOLUNTARY RECALL?
A: The circular tabs on the Rotating Cabinet Latch can become detached and pose a risk of a small parts choking hazard to young children.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE THE TODDLEROO BY NORTH STATES ROTATING CABINET LATCHES THAT ARE BEING RECALLED?
A: The Toddleroo by North States Latches are white and have “North States” printed in gray on the front of the latch. They were sold in a 4-pack with model number “6178” printed in the upper left corner of the packaging. The UPC number 0-26107-06178-2 or 0-26107-06177-5 is printed on the bottom left-hand corner of the back of the product packaging.
Q: WHERE AND WHEN WERE THE ROTATING CABINET LATCHES SOLD?
A: Walmart, BuyBuyBaby, www.northstatesind.com and other in-store or online retailers from November 2019 through August 2022.
Q: WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY ROTATING CABINET LATCHES?
A: Immediately discontinue use and remove product from all surfaces (follow removal instructions below).
Using the email safety@northstatesind.com please send photos of both the front and back of ALL latches in your possession, along with your full name and mailing address. Dispose of the Rotating Cabinet Latches and confirm in the email that they have all been destroyed or disposed of by writing “I acknowledge and confirm that I have discontinued use and have disposed of the Rotating Cabinet Latches.”
Q. HOW DO I REMOVE THE ROTATING CABINET LATCHES?
A: Follow Removal instructions here:
Step 1: Using a hairdryer set on medium heat, warm the area where the adhesive attaches to the cabinet.
Step 2: Heat this area for approximately 1 minute.
Step 3: Gently remove the latch from the surface of the cabinet. If the latch does not remove easily, apply more heat to the area until it does.
Step 4: Repeat the above steps on the opposite side.
*Note: North States Industries is not responsible for any damage to the surface caused by the removal of the Rotating Cabinet Latches. Any damage to the property is the sole responsibility of the end user.
Q: WHAT IF THE CIRCULAR TAB HAS NOT DETACHED, AND MY PRODUCT SEEMS SAFE TO USE?
A: No, out of an abundance of caution, this voluntary recall is issued to prevent any potential incidents.
Q: WHAT IF I HAVE ANOTHER TODDLEROO BY NORTH STATES PRODUCT - SHOULD I WORRY ABOUT IT BEING RECALLED AND NOT SAFE?
A: No, this recall is only for model 6178 with UPC number 0-26107-06178-2, 0-26107-06177-5. Rest assured, all Toddleroo by North States products are safe for use and are not included in this recall.
Q: WHAT IS NORTH STATES INDUSTRIES DOING TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN?
A: To ensure that there is no possibility of recurrence, we have withdrawn the product from the market. North States Industries will continue to test all of its products to ensure they meet or exceed all applicable standards in the marketplace for quality, safety, performance and functionality.
Q: HOW MUCH IS THE REFUND?
A: $5.50 for each pack of 4 latches. We need to see ALL latches in your possession in the photos in order to determine the correct refund amount. If you paid more than $5.50, a copy of your purchase receipt will need to be provided.
Q: HOW DO I SUBMIT A RECEIPT IF I PAID MORE THAN $5.50 FOR A PACK OF 4?
A: Email your receipt along with pictures of the front and the back of ALL your latches and be sure to include your full name and mailing address to safety@northstatesind.com In the email, also state that you acknowledge and confirm that you have discontinued use and have disposed of the latches by writing “I acknowledge and confirm that I have discontinued use and have disposed of the Rotating Cabinet Latches.”
Q: HOW DID NORTH STATES INDUSTRIES DETERMINE THE REFUND AMOUNT FOR A PACK OF 4 ROTATING CABINET LATCHES?
A: The majority of these products were sold at retailers for $4.98. We are refunding $5.50 to refund applicable taxes that were paid.

A: Once you have completed the steps and have been approved, you should receive your check via mail within 3 weeks.
Q: I PURCHASED THE ROTATING CABINET LATCHES DIRECTLY FROM THE NORTHSTATESIND.COM WEBSITE. HOW DO I OBTAIN MY REFUND?
A: North States Industries will email all consumers who purchased the latches directly on the northstatesind.com website with instructions on how they will obtain their refund.
Q: I RECEIVED A REPLACEMENT SET OF ROTATING CABINET LATCHES DIRECTLY FROM NORTH STATES INDUSTRIES WHEN I HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY LATCHES. ARE THOSE REPLACEMENTS SAFE TO USE?
A: No, immediately discontinue use and remove the Rotating Cabinet Latches from cabinets (follow removal instructions above).
